SURGIFOAM Absorbable Gelatin Sponge is a sterile surgical hemostatic sponge made from porcine gelatin. It can be used dry or saturated with sterile sodium chloride solution and is designed to assist with hemostasis during surgical procedures when conventional methods such as pressure, ligature, or other techniques are ineffective or impractical. The sponge is suitable for surgical applications except ophthalmic procedures.
